BOLIVIA, Potosí, cob 8 reales, (1651-52) E, with crown-alone ("jester's cap") and crowned-C countermarks on cross (very rare with two countermarks). S-P36; KM-19b; Cal-Type 327. 25.24 grams. Broad, solid flan with full but partially weak cross (off-center) and shield, with bold mintmark to left and assayer to right, both countermarks in periphery to right of cross, the crowned-C nearly full but the crown-alone about 50% (both at least scarce), toned in crevices, edge-split. With original tag from the salvors. Recovered from: Capitana, sunk in 1654 off Chanduy, Ecuador
